Did you know that approximately 20% of our members are 65 years or older?  Most of this ministry has to do with what our seniors are doing, not what is done for them.  Our seniors are an integral part of ministry in our church.

Our seniors serve as Elders, Deacons, Deaconesses, Teachers, and Trustees.  They are part of our Thursday volunteer crew, help as ushers, and serve on the missions committee.  Everywhere our congregation is working, seniors are there!  Some lead ministries and others support those ministries through active participation.

There are a limited number of ministries designed especially for older adults.  One of those is visitation to seniors who are not able to leave their homes because of one infirmity or another.  Earl and Evie Sparks lead this ministry, and have the title of "Church Visitors".  If you are interested in visiting shut ins, please contact Earl or Evie for more information.

Another event is the Super Seniors luncheon and program that meets on the first Wednesday of each month.  Appoximately 80 to 100 seniors from local churches gather together for this event.  The Super Seniors also sponsor several day trips.  If you would like to attend, go on a bus tour, or help with the program, please contact Bill Ashley.  The luncheon that follows each monthly meetings is prepared by Mary McMullan and her hard-working crew.  They always need extra hands and would love to have you join them.

If you have additional questions about the seniors at Chelten, please contact Dr. Dave Spruance, our Senior Adult Ministries Pastor.
