Chosen 300 Ministries

Chelten is partnering with Chosen 300 Ministries to serve Philadelphia's Homeless each month.  Every 4th Sunday, volunteers meet in Chelten's kitchen and cook for the next day's Chosen 300 meal from 3pm until 6pm. The following day (Monday) they have additional food preparation from 2-4 pm, then the volunteers eat together and then depart between 4:30pm and 5pm for Center City Philadelphia.  When the team arrives, the doors are open and people are let in.  There is a short praise and worship session and gospel message.  Once the guests have been spiritually nourished, the volunteers serve physical nourishment to approximately 250 - 300 people.  The volunteers serve at the Chosen 300 Ministry and are back at the church by 8:30pm .We do this every 4th Sunday and Monday of the month. There is always room for additional volunteers.  It takes 25 to 30 men and women to serve the dinner and interact with the homeless.  If you are unable to join the group on Sunday or Monday, there are many other needs for the ministry.  Please check the "Ministry Needs" portion on the left for items needed by the Homeless Ministry.  If you would like more information or would like to volunteer, please contact the church office.

Prayer Request:  Pray for the weather- that it will be beautiful.  Pray for those who will be running the service. Workers are needed to commit 2 to 3 months of service in many different areas.  Pray that the Gospel of Jesus Christ will transform the hearts and lives of the homeless men and women.

Ministry Needs:

Items- need donations of butter, 6pk/12pk/24pk soda, Sam's Club gift cards or financial donations.  Please designate your gift(s) to Homeless Ministries.

Newsletter- Need someone to print, fold, stuff, address envelopes

Transportation- Someone to schedule van drivers for each month.

Pastry/Donuts- A substitute needed to pick up donuts &  freeze them. 

Shopper- A substitute needed to shop for the meal.
